I cant even front - I hate the Celtics. I really do hate them, from the green uniforms to larry bird's beak, to red Auerbach's cigar...The fact they won like a million NBA titles, enhances my hate. Add on to the fact that the refs use to always favor them against my Sixers, and you have a deep rooted hatred...
I am not going to do a tribute to the celtics like i did Kobe, I am going to show my favorite sixers-celtics moment
The night when Dr J gave bird the business
and the night Andrew Toney bust 34 on that azz..

Flashback 2008 Presidential Debate - The President Nails it
Remember when folks questioned the President's Foreign Policy Acumen when he was running in 2008 ? (Despite being a Kenyan who forged his Birth Certificate 50 years ago to be President (sarcasm)) Peep these soundbites on Pakistan from several debates during the 2008 campaign...He said what the deal was, and look at that, he called it....The irony is how two of his opponents are now working for him...
This is why I F#cks with this dude!!! but can we get all the troops home now?
When you see the end is near - A tribute to the Lakers, especially Kobe
There are times when your favorite teams and players are in the twilight of their careers: when the Sixers traded Moses, then Ron Harper doing a 360 move in the air on Dr. J was my moment. Lakers fans, ones from LA and the fake as ones everywhere else, this is your moment. between star players going soft, other players marrying celebrity whores and Ron Ron going crazy again, its a wrap .Look at it this way..at least they are not shooting you in the eye like Bin Laden
So in Tribute to the way it was...A Kobe Retrospective ..

Lets recognize the Impact of Ronald Reagan on President's Day and Black History Month
A Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that 37 percent of American adults consider Reagan the most influential president in the last 50 years. I have to agree with this poll. In my opinion, Ronald Reagan has chartered the path that African Americans have made in my lifetime. When he died, I remembered pundits reminisced with joy the great times when he was President (I must had missed that period). People were even thinking about changing the dime and putting his image on it.
You cannot talk about Black History Month without talking about the impact Reagan has made on African Americans during his term. Why do I say that? Please see the article below:
Why All of Us Should Celebrate Ronald Reagan Day-Let’s Teach Our Kids By Davey D
Today, February 6 is Ronald Reagan Day and to be quite frank, I’m happy to celebrate. As folks gear up to pull out all the stops and all the bells and whistles to commemorate what would’ve been the Big Gipper’s 100th birthday, I too wanna leave no stone unturned. People all over the world especially our children deserve to know the truth about the man who was nick named ‘The Great Communicator‘.

Class Warfare in Wisconsin: 10 Things You Should Know by Josh Healey
I love to see people fight the system and the Man. I also think that this could had been avoided had folks put this type of energy when it came to supporting candidates that they believe. That includes financially, when their candidate need campaign funds, and getting voters to the voting booth.
However, this is where we are. This article by Josh Healey, gives a good summary of what the Union is dealing with in Wisconsin.
For most of the last decade, I lived in the crazy, cold, contradictory state that is Wisconsin. I wrote research papers in Madison, performed poems in Milwaukee, walked picket lines in Jefferson, organized student conferences in Eau Claire, led artistic workshops in Green Bay, spoke at my roommate’s wedding in Merrill, and went camping with my future wife at Black River Falls.
A big-city kid from the East Coast, I never fully got used to the overwhelming whiteness of Wisconsin — the winter, and yes, the people. But I eventually learned how to wear five layers in February, and that amidst the farms and abandoned factories, there was a working-class people with a strong populist ethic. As my freshman roommate from Wausau once told me, “Josh, I don’t follow politics. I just hate corporations.”

When keeping it real goes wrong... - John Wiley Price Tells Citizens To “Go To Hell” « CBS Dallas / Fort Worth
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you....
If, Rudyard Kipling
There are two lessons in this story. One, you have to keep you cool when people are trying to bait you in a public setting. Even if the speaker was using a derogatory term to address the public official, the whole story talks about how John Wiley showed his behind. Mission Accomplished. It's a common trick done in every workplace. You bait the angry black man to going off, and then you hear “see, I told you he has an attitude problem". Many have fell victim to this trick. Going off will not solve the problem. Thankfully, the President has not fell for this BS.
The second lesson, is that men of a certain age, should not rock cornrows. This is definitely true if you are a public official in a southern town.
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Tuesday’s Dallas County Commissioner’s Court meeting erupted into an argument between Commissioner John Wiley Price and a citizen, ending with Price repeatedly telling several citizens to “go to hell.”
The exchange started during the public speaking portion of the meeting, which happens after the commissioners have gone through their weekly agenda.
Six citizens addressed the court. All of them talked about the recent controversial departure of county Elections Administrator Bruce Sherbet. Sherbet, who was the Elections Administrator for 24 years, said he felt Price and Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins forced him out.
The last public speaker at Tuesday’s meeting, Jeff Turner, began by stating that he would refer to “a certain member of the court” — Price — as “the Chief Mulllah of Dallas County.”
Court rules state that public speakers may not address individual commissioners by name.
As Turner spoke, he continued to call Price “Chief Mulllah.” Price interrupted Turner several times, yelling at him, “don’t call me Chief Mulllah” and “call me by my name.”

Wade to Lebron for a Full Court Alley Oop..
I am not a fan of the Heat. I was hoping for Lebron to go to the Knicks, but thats all in the past. And the city of Cleveland has been decimated by him leaving. But you have to give props for a helluva play. Even I consider this a "Oh Shyt" moment. I still dont think they are getting out of the East.

Less-Pricey iPhone in the Works
Source - Wall Street Journal - By YUKARI IWATANI KANE And ETHAN SMITH
Apple Inc. is working on the first of a new line of less-expensive iPhones and an overhaul of software services for the devices, people familiar with the matter said, moving to accelerate sales of its smartphones amid growing competition.
Apple is preparing to roll out a series of lower-priced iPhones to compete with other smartphones on the market. The new models will run about half the cost of existing iPhones.
One of the people, who saw a prototype of the phone late last year, said it is intended for sale alongside Apple's existing line. The new device would be about half the size of the iPhone 4, which is the current model.

Magic Johnson is not a business man, he is a business, man!!
I was a not a fan of Magic for becoming a legend at the Sixer's expense during game 6 in the 1980 NBA finals. But you got to respect his business acumen. Get that paper...

Retired basketball star Magic Johnson agreed to invest in Vibe Holdings LLC, a magazine and television company focused on the urban market, along with billionaire Ron Burkle, according to a person familiar with the agreement.
As part of the deal, Johnson, 51, will become chairman of New York-based Vibe, said the person, who declined to be identified because the deal isn’t public. Johnson and Burkle, head of the investment firm Yucaipa Cos., will join Leo Hindery, the former cable and telecom executive, whose InterMedia Partners LP already owns a stake in Vibe.

The Negative Perception of African Americans in Super Bowl Commercials is not new
Who defines what is considered offensive versus what is considered "cute"? Recently sisters have been up in arms with the recent Pepsi Max Super bowl commercial showing the black woman treating her boy friend like trash. The bad treatment reaches its climax, with sis throwing a can at dude. The guy ducks, and the can hits a white chick...and the black couple runs away...
This commercial got high praise in the media....except for the sisters of course...
Flash back to last year's Super Bowl, and Doritos came out with this foolishness
The same sisters I know who are raising hell about them being portrayed in the Pepsi commercial, found a commercial with a boy slapping a grown ass man, "cute"...No proposed boycotts...I don't remember seeing essence posting their thoughts on this image. I get the image of a young boy protecting his mother...but in reality, that kid would had caught a size 12 in his chest like Bruce Lee in Game of Death (Courtesy of the Great Kareem Abdul Jabbar)
After watching both commercials...I had this look
Both of these commercials are trash (along with the State Farm angry sister/simp ass dude commercial) and are the continued coonification (new word?) of the African American image. The scary thing is that these commercials were rated high on surveys and are in heavy rotation on TV right now.
So what are we going to do...probably nothing...I like doritos and pepsi...lol...and so do you...We only give them perception by the way some of us act...Until we stop being on TV acting a fool, they are going to continue portraying us like this...
Spike broke it down 10 years ago. I recommend you go rent this...
